Malling With The Family

I’m back in the Philippines! Just like the last two times I visited my family, we spent day one of my vacation at the mall. This time however, we agreed to go to the mall closest to our house due to heavy traffic which has gotten worst due to Christmas Season. After our terrible experience last night (took five hours just to go home from the airport) I think avoiding traffic will be an important factor in deciding for places we are going to visit in the next few days.

Our main purpose initially was to buy my niece Nina the pair of boots I promised her. We ended up Christmas shopping for everyone though mainly because I didn’t want to go back anymore. The mall was so crowded! I guess I’m really getting old as I am no longer comfortable being in crowded places.

While waiting for everyone to finish their shopping I accepted the free make-up service offered to me. Yup, I bought the set.

We didn’t stay long. We didn’t even eat as we planned. Too many people. Even my sister and brother were itching to go home. We just bought two boxes of pizza and ate in the jeep on our way home.

It was a fun day and it was good to be back.

“You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you.”– Frederick Buechner
