It was good to be greeted by the taho vendor this morning. I miss eating taho, one of the most popular street foods in the Philippines. It’s a favorite for both the children and the adults.
Taho is a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft/silken tofu, arnibal (sweetener and flavoring), and sago pearl (similar to tapioca pearls). This staple comfort food is a signature sweet and taho peddlers can be found all over the country.
I remember eating taho almost every morning in my growing up years. Me, my cousins and playmates, with our own cups and spoons, patiently wait for the taho vendor everyday. It seemed like our days are not complete without taho. We all get excited whenever we hear our favorite guy shout ‘Tahoooooooooo”.
Sweet memories.
