It’s a beautiful Sunday! Today’s agenda was to visit and pay respects to our dearly departed ancestors. My Mom’s eldest brother, Uncle Cenen, and my cousin Ryan accompanied us.
I lit candles for my dear Grandparents, Uncles, Aunties and relatives. I told my Dad, it felt sad to be in the cemetery and see so many headstones with familiar names – for it meant that we have lost so many loved ones. My Dad chuckled when I started ‘talking’ to my Grandparents. “I miss you, Pa and Ma. I’ll visit you again next time I go back to the Philippines.”
On our way back to my Aunt’s house, we dropped by Macalaya Pier for some sight seeing. Below are some of the photos I took of the Sorsogon Bay from the pier.
Macalaya Pier is one of my favorite places to visit in Bicol. There’s really not much to it, in fact it smells so fishy (literally!) but I love going there. Just gazing at the waters gives me peace of mind.
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace. – Kate Chopin
