GrandMa

I thought I’d post here Urielle’s tribute to Mama. Urielle is our family’s first baby. We’ve known her  (and her family) since she was barely two years old. She grew up with us. Madir loved her like her very own grandchild.

“Grandmother-grandchild relationships are simple. Grandmas are short on criticism and long on love.” -Unknown

A grandmother is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend. Grandmothers, some say they are like angels in training. But in truth they really are angels sent by God to mold their grandchildren at a young age.

Madir and Ye1

Madir, thank you for giving me all the love and care of a grandma. Making me experience the love of a grandma that I’m longing for. For all the times you’ve protected me, cared for me and most of all for all the love that you gave me. The late night massages that you gave me when I was a kid, you’re always worrying when your grandchildren gets sick or even when they got some mosquito bites. Your wonderful cooking that always tastes great (especially my own favorites: your homemade dinuguan and laing) they even said that you can turn weeds into gourmet. Even though you always tease us we all knew that you’re just making us smile and laugh.

Thank you Madir! We miss you and we love you! We all know that you’re in God’s hands now.

Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what. – Unknown
