I finally have the week-end off. To take advantage of the beautiful weather Tashi and I decided it would be a good time to de-stress at the Zoo. Even though, I’ve been to the Kansas City Zoo so many times, I still look forward to seeing my favorites every time we visit.
First on our list are the penguins.
These friendly deer will always be one of our favorite animals to check out. They are so gentle.
On our way to Africa to ride the Sky Zafari, we noticed the Tropics Building. I’m not sure for how long this building had been opened to the public. For some strange reason, this was the first time we noticed it. We went to check it out and were glad we did.
The Beaks & Feet Boulevard is at a secluded place at the Zoo. Not a lot of people go here. The peacock was gorgeous but I didn’t take a photo as ‘she’ was in a cage. I wonder why. I thought the Zoo had always let peacocks roam freely.
We left at 4:00 o’clock PM. My feet were hurting for all the walking we did but it didn’t matter. It was a very well-spent afternoon and I’ll do it again. I felt renewed.
I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order. ~John Burroughs
